Mr. Casey attended the Lawrenceville School (’92), Wake Forest University (’96) and Widener University School of Law (’04). He interned for Associate Justice Virginia Long of the New Jersey Supreme Court during law school and then clerked for the Honorable F. Patrick McManimon in the Mercer County Superior Court.
After working for the Lawrenceville firm of Szaferman Lakind, Mr. Casey joined the law firm of Lenox, Socey, Formidoni, Giordano, Cooley, Lang and Casey in January 2007. Mr. Casey is presently engaged in the general practice of law with a special emphasis in real estate, zoning and land use planning, business law, estate planning, estate administration, municipal court, civil litigation and probate matters. Mr. Casey became a partner of the Firm in January 2008.
Mr. Casey has conducted hundreds of real estate transactions and negotiated loans, representing both the seller and buyer. He has also acquired a thorough knowledge of the landlord-tenant practice representing parties ranging from major commercial landlords and housing authorities to your typical residential landlord and tenant.
In zoning and planning matters, Mr. Casey has represented developers and private landowners before local Zoning and Planning Boards throughout the State. He has litigated numerous zoning cases through the New Jersey Court system. He currently represents Capital Health System, Inc. and is responsible for all of their land use and zoning applications in addition to all of their real estate matters.
In business law matters, Mr. Casey has set up limited liability companies, partnerships and professional and close corporations, drafted By-Laws and Operating Agreements, drafted Buy-Sell and Cross-Purchase Stock Agreements and Buy-Outs and has represented purchasers and sellers of various businesses.
Mr. Casey has represented a wide variety of clients in civil litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants in matters ranging from personal injuries and employment discrimination to land disputes and collection matters.
As to probate matters, he handles numerous guardianship petitions each year. Mr. Casey is regularly appointed by the Chancery Judge to represent indigent clients and alleged incapacitated clients in a variety of matters. He has assisted clients in the administration of numerous estates from will drafting to will contests.
Mr. Casey is a trustee of the Mercer County Bar Association. The Bar Association recognized him as the Young Lawyer of the Year in 2010. He has served as a panelist at a CLE seminar led by the Honorable John J. Hughes, U.S.M.J., ret., entitled, “Civility: Respect-Courtesy-Ethics in the legal profession.” He was selected by the New Jersey Supreme Court for membership and service on the District VII Ethics Committee. In 2015 Mr. Casey was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Committee on Character for the New Jersey Board of Bar Examiners. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Mercer County and has been featured in the Mercer Business Magazine’s “Ask A Busy Person.” Mr. Casey is a Trustee of Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart.
Mr. Casey grew up in Princeton and currently resides in Washington Crossing, PA with his wife Carrie and two children, Maeve and Bobby.
